I am America. I am the part you won’t recognize. But get used to me. Black, confident, cocky; my name, not yours; my religion, not yours; my goals, my own; get used to me.” —Muhammad Ali,
BLACK PEOPLE DO YOGA TOO!
Undoubtably, someone will read that and have a remark about "ALL people doing yoga." Which is true, but if we let the world tell it - there is indeed a certain TYPE of person who does yoga. A person who LOOKS a certain way, according to the world that is.
We ain't on that over here though. Yoga is for EVERY BODY and EVERYBODY.
Studying ancient yoga philosophy we know that yoga was created by people of color. We can trace the practice in the asana, breathwork, and the Niyamas and Yamas back to Africa [Kemetic] and India.
You can’t lead the people if you don’t love the people. You can’t save the people if you don’t serve the people.” —Cornel West
Because I love the people AND want to be of service to be people, I am running a special for the month of February in honor of Black History Month.
