Ready, Set, and FLOW ...

However many holy words you speak, however many you read, what good will they do you if you do not act on them?” The Dhammapada

I am so thankful for how I decided to end 2022.

The last few months felt like a blur. One month barely just starting before I was into another one. If I am being honest - May until December was a blur. I was present and I was not at the same time. I was just flowing through the motions, and showing up where I was obligated to be.

Around mid-December I knew I needed to change my pace or else 2023 would be the same blur. I started thinking about my word of the year - this is a new practice for me. I had long given up resolutions, because I never put PROCESSES in place for me to keep them so those words were like water in the cup of my hands .... they fell through unfinished and I would be left feeling, well unfinished too.

2022 word was DISCIPLINE. Was I disciplined 100% of the time? No. Was I more disciplined that I was the previous year? Hell YEAH.

So when BIG announced their Intention Setting Candle Lit New Year's Eve class with Nancy, I knew that's where I needed to be.

  1. I love night yoga

  2. I didn't have any other plans

  3. There is an old colloquialism that goes something like, "whatever you end the year with, you'll stay with all year" - and if there is anything I want to stay with me this year and to get DEEPER into, it's YOGA.

  4. There was a champagne toast at the end.

The start of the class was meditative with a lit candle to set our drishti. Afterwards Nancy led us in a "minimal instruction" class, which blew my mind. Most of the practitioners at BIG are advanced and I still have never been to a class with minimal instruction. There was no music, just the sound of our breath as we moved through the flow. It was absolutely transcendental. At one point, I felt like my spirit was floating above me as I flowed.

I know. I know. But, I'm DEAD A** serious.

The experience reinforced my word selection for 2023: TRUST

The way my mind trusted my body to go through the flow without hyper focusing on the poses. I choose this word because while I trust the universe to provide what I need, I have been hesitant to trust MYSELF to bring my ideas to life. To TRUST the process of building something new. TRUST what goes needs to leave, what comes needs to be received.

With that said, I will be hosting a POP UP RESTORATIVE YOGA CLASS NEXT MONTH in Honor of my 40th Birthday!! SAVE THE DATE: FEBRUARY 18th 2023

It's going to be a vibe! Candlelight, Sound bath, and a beautiful flow.

2023 is the year of ACTION.
