Can someone say, "Second Annual Birthday Pop-Up"?
Yeah, it's a thing. It's officially UP and STUCK as the youngun's be saying. What started as a 40th Birthday Celebration has turned into an ANNUAL AND SEMI-ISH Quarterly thing.
Catch the Flow of the other Pop-Ups in their respective blog posts: Restore, Ground Down, and Lil' Yogi's.
This year I was able to host my pop up at my home studio, which was a blessing and another full circle moment. I asked my good friend and fellow Detroiter, Amanda, to come and perform with her sound bowls. My friend Kay came and did the videography for the event and snapped some AMAZING pictures.
She managed to capture not only the essence of my brand, but WHO I AM and WHAT I AM A STAND FOR. I am big on connections. I am big on creating and holding space for my friends. (insert humble brag) A good friend of mine said the video truly captured the light and joy I bring to everyone who knows me. 🥹🥹
Now, I'm still gangsta so don't TRY me - hmmmkay.
The turnout was smaller than I would have liked, but I know it's going to take consistency on my side - along with ACTIVELY marketing myself- for that to come together. I am just focusing on providing a quality experience for my participants and letting word of mouth do its job. I'm a purist when it comes to my practice and teachings, meaning you're getting the foundational teachings in an accessible way with some yogic principles and philosophy for some razzle dazzle- with THAT said, please don't ask me to teach Trap Yoga. I ain't knocking it, but that's not me. Knowing that, I am being patient with building my clientele and finding students.
As much as yoga is a physical/mental practice for me, it is also a vessel for connection and building community. It is important to me to create that environment as well. So, I followed the same format as my previous pop-ups, with time for community in the beginning before leading a 60-minute restorative flow followed by 30 minutes of sound bathing in savasana. I provide light snacks afterwards and take the time to connect with everyone that comes. I like to hear how they received the class, especially those are who new to the practice.
Of course, I had Aum Yoga merchandise available for sale. The scent I handpicked for this pop-up was a Sweet and Tranquil Sandalwood/Tonka blend. Man listen, I thought I had a hit on my hands with the RESTORE candle, but this one smells AMAZING.
Combining the therapeutic advantages of Yoga and Aroma Therapy increases the benefits of both, improving your mind, body, and soul all at the same damn time. I curate a scent for each pop-up that supports the theme. RESET: to set, adjust, or fix in a new or different way: to reset priorities. This blend has an added bonus of enhancements that aid in better rest, relaxation, and sleep. The gift bags include a 4oz candle, a matching 2oz. Everything Spray and 10ml Essential Oil to give every yogi an aromatic experience they can use any time a reset is needed.
Initially, my idea was to have the Limited-Edition Candles available at the Pop-Ups ONLY. For NOW, read: get them while you can, I am selling the ones I have in stock. ONCE they are gone, they will only be available at the Pop-Up, Quarterly Sales, and by custom order with a minimum of 50. I couldn't leave money on the table y'all.
In the meantime, look at how beautiful my packaging is though. I love my label design.
Be on the lookout for Aum Yoga Signature Scent - Meet Me on the Ma'at- releasing in May. That one will be a staple and regularly available, a.k.a - subscribe to my email list so you can be the first to know when they are available.

Cue Up Lil Weebie - Cause my Michiganders [Detroit x Grand Rapids] came out DEEP to support.

Catch the Flow with this Recap of RESET. I hope to see YOU at my next pop-up.
Meet Me on the Ma'at.
